The quality and fit is outstanding! Everyone loves the 'Cheers' when they see it.
I got it for my BIAB set up. This keeps the bag off the bottom of the kettle for re-circulation and off the sharp edges of the pick up tube dam my kettle has. Haven't tried it as a straight up mash tun. I only normally do 5 gallon batches and a 15 gallon MT is probably a bit too big for me. But it sits down in the kettle low below the 1 gallon mark. And unlike other false bottoms I have used the 'stand off' for lack of a better word is a circle of the mesh material not just feet. This makes potentially two mesh screens protecting the pickup tube. I could go on but will just say this is the nicest false bottom I have ever used.

Cons:
* causes some scratching on kettle
Recommend:
* adding a rubber gasket on outside would create better seal and prevent scratching
Our responseHi James, thanks for your feedback. Our false bottoms are specifically designed to "snap" into place in the kettle. The tolerance is purposely so small (1/16th of an inch) that a rubber gasket would simply slide off the false bottom during insertion, or the false bottom would eat into the gasket material shredding it over just a few uses. In addition, heat destroys gaskets. Without a gasket our false bottoms assure trouble-free performance for years and years; and that's what they are designed to do :-) Regards, Victor.
