I have 3 of these that I use with my spedels instead of the air lock. This and the transfer cane are musts if you have the speidel fermentors.

I now have two these so I could make my lager in my kegerator and use a blow off tube. With the airlock that setup is too tall, with the bloeoff it is tight but works great and I can make 15 gallons.

I was struggling with accurate temperature readings taping the probe to the side, so decided to try this. It works great, fits perfect. A great upgrade to a nice fermenter. The blow off tube is nice to have as well; the giant spiedel airlock was kind of a pain.

Thermowell seems pretty accurate and the curved blow off tube makes it easier to fit into my chest freezer.
In hindsight with all the head space a blow off tube seems a bit excessive, but it's nice to have for super active fermentations.
Other than that the seal is great, blow off tubing fits snuggly, and the quality of the welds are great.

In it of it's self, this add on for my 7g Speidel is perfect! The only issue I have is that it's not sold with the orange lid cap to hold it in place. When you buy a Speidel fermenter, it comes with a solid cap and an open one for the spigot and that's it. So to use this blow off with thermowell, you need two of the open caps. This item would be perfect if it was bundled with the cap.

I always knew the internal fermentor temp was and can be higher than the surface. Also is lower profile than the Sepidel stock Air Lock is nice too. Gasket worked well too. I did add distilled water to thermowell before adding temp sensor for most accurate readings. 1/2" Blow Off Tube to jar of sanitizer worked very good. Excellent Design & Quality, I bought two :)

Lived my 60L Speidel so much I bought a39L for smaller batches. Had to have this blowoff ‘cause it worked so well on the first one.

I'm glad I found NorCal and their great accessories for Speidel fermentors. While the 60L fermentor is large enough to prevent blowoff from a 10 gallon batch, the BLOWOFF TUBE WITH THERMOWELL replaces the huge Speidel airlock, allowing the fermentor to fit into my chest freezer fermentation chamber. I purchased both the NPT DIP TUBE and BLOWOFF TUBE WITH THERMOWELL, and have transformed my 60L Speidel fermentor from a great addition to an incredible asset in my home brewery.
One note: The original plastic spigot is easy to remove from the lock ring without permanent damage so that you can reuse it if necessary. The inner (handle/valve) part of the spigot will slide out of the outer sleeve part with a little upward pressure.

This is a nice accessorie however the thermowell could be longer. It doesn't reach a 20 gallon batch in the 120 L fermentor.
Our responseThanks for the feedback, Kevin. The thermowell is set to the length that it is so that it will work with large and small Speidel fermenters and tanks. Unfortunately, the 120L is the tallest of the fermenters.
